904L Alloy is an austenitic stainless steel alloy. This alloy intended for middles to high level of corrosion resistance. The high nickel (25%) and molybdenum (4.5%) contents of the 904L alloy gives good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.

Applications - 904L is extensively used in welded vessel & other large and complex fabrications. It is utilized in the production and transport of sulphuric acid, metal pickling in sulphuric acid, production & concentration of phosphoric acid. It is also used in seawater, brackish water, condensers, heat exchangers & pipe work, in paper and allied industries, gas washing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
